Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dental specialists who diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and defects of the teeth, oral cavity, facial bones and supporting facial structures. After completing four years of dental school and receiving a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS), oral and maxillofacial surgeons complete an additional four to six years of surgical training. This surgical training includes extensive in-hospital experience in anesthesia, medicine, oral pathology, general surgery, trauma/trauma surgery, plastic surgery and head/neck surgery.
Dr. Jeffrey Hawkins
Dr. Hawkins is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Hawkins received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1985. He later attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry where he received his DDS in 1996, graduating first in his class. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000.
Dr. Hawkins holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also maintains privileges at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Dr. Allan Libunao
Dr. Allan Libunao is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Libunao received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign in 1991. He then received his DDS from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1996. After dental school, Dr. Libunao completed a dental internship at the San Francisco V.A. Medical Center. He then returned to Chicago to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center in 2002.
Dr. Libunao is on staff at Bolingbrook Hospital.
